Choosing the right makeup for your eye shape

Choosing the right look for your eyeshape is sort of like choosing the right look for your eye color. Some colors are suitable for your eyeshape, and some are not. Here are some tips on how to choose the right eyemakeup to enhance your eyeshape.

Round Eyes

For round eyes, apply a light color to your lid, and a darker color in your crease. Use eyeliner on both top and bottom lids, extending the eyeliner out both on the top and bottom. Mascara should be applied more heavily on upper lashes, and lighter on lower lashes.

Almond/Asian shaped eyes

Use a three-layer eyeshadow effect; lightest color on the browbone, medium shade on the lid, and darkest on the lashline.  Line lower lid and outer corner of the upper lid.  Then use a brush or your finger to smudge out the lines, to create more of a smudgy smokey eye look. Then apply mascara to upper and lower lashes and you're good to go!

Most people with smaller eyes usually want to create the illusion of making them appear larger.  One way to achieve this is to stick with lighter colored shadows, and perhaps use a white eyeliner to line the upper lashline.  You can even use white to line the water line as well. This will make smaller eyes appear bigger and brighter.

Fall is in the air!

The Fall season is quickly approaching, and the makeup trends are ROCKIN'! Here are some of my favorites!

Thick Eyebrows are Back!
Fall 2011 Makeup Trends

No more of the 1940's looking skinnny pencil eyebrows girls! Thick is back! I love thicker eyebrows because they look so natural, unlike overplucked penciled in eyebrows. Plus thicker eyebrows are more attractive because they help frame your face, and give you a bold look without a lot of eye makeup. Someone like me, who has naturally thick eyebrows can definetely appreciate this trend.

Upside Down Cat Eye

I absolutely love this look! This is definetely one of my favorite trends I've seen so far for the upcoming season. I am  an eyeliner girl, and I love playing around with different cateye looks.  This one is definetely on my list of looks to try. This look is very artistic; fun and edgy, perfect look for going out for a hot night on the town!

Colorful Smokey Eye

Who doesn't love a smokey eye?  Smokey eyes are the number one hottest trend in makeup.  They will never go out of style, but the looks are just getting better and better. I especially love the brighter more metallic looking smokey eye.  Ditchs those blacks and browns this season and substitute them with some vibrant orange, fuschia, and copper colors:)
